Forklift Driver Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

Provide superior customer service in yard operation; answers customers questions and concerns regarding orders and retrieves orders
Assists in gathering materials to build loads/orders- Forklift certified
Assist truck drivers to load various building supplies onto trucks for delivery
Operate the yard forklifts once training and certification has been achieved
Help unload transport trucks with product for the store and yard
Be knowledgeable about all products stored in the yard. Retail or wholesale lumber yard experience needed
Practice proper material handling techniques to ensure minimal damage to yard inventory
Keep the yard area clean and presentable in appearance
Executes and understands the importance of time management, standards of operating procedures, owners manuals and product/warning labels
Assists in keeping inventory stocked with proper materials-Knowledge of wood and plywood species preferred
Operates with a strict awareness of all safety

Forklift Driver Shift Info

• Day Shift, 07:00 am to 4:00 pm

• Day Shift 09:00 am- 6:00 pm

• Monday - Friday

Forklift Driver Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

• Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset

• Proficient in mathematics

• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations

• Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace

• Current forklift license and certification

• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

• Able to work night, weekends, and holidays

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Able to work independently

• Material Handler experience preferred

• Able to pass a background check

• Able to work in the US
