The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all plant equipment through mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses maintenance failures.
- Utilizes assembly drawings, P&IDs, and manuals to tune equipment for operation, employing electrical (VFDs, SCRs, motor starters) and logic (PLC, SLC) principles to solve equipment problems.
- Applies basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities and building maintenance knowledge as needed.
- Works with operating devices such as gauges, RTDs, pressure transmitters, I/Ps, and vortex flow meters.
- Trains new associates and team members on required skill sets for maintenance.
- Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and safety guidelines.
- Operates SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork.
- Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by the team leader.
- Works with and trains operations associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assists operations as needed with production.
- 3-5 years of experience in food processing, working with standard troubleshooting and repair of production equipment with highly sophisticated control systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to train other associates in maintenance operations.
- Desire and ability to operate as a member of a self-directed work team.
- Proficiency in SCADA system.
- General mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical and logic principles.
- Basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge.
- Aware of and able to follow associate safety guidelines.
- Aware of and able to follow GMP and food safety guidelines.
- Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures.
- Ability to work in and contribute to production improvement, associate involvement, and temporary teams as assigned.
M-F, 1:30 - 10 pm (2nd shift can fluctuate). Weekends are possible.
Training Schedule- First week: 9 am - 5:30 pm
- 2nd and 3rd week: 5:30 am - 2 pm
- 4th week: Start of the 2nd shift schedule 1:30 pm - 10 pm
