The ideal candidate will be involved with the designing, developing, and testing of all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Candidate will apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products. Competent in general engineering processes and procedures (strength of materials, fluids). May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the HVAC industry. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of sheet metal and structural steel equipment
- Performs engineering design evaluations
- Attends product review meetings
- Creates drawings using SolidWorks and/or Auto Cad
- Performs engineering calculations
- Technical support for factory floor
- Performs customer site visits
- Creates Bill of Materials
- Creates new product design and reviews/enhances existing designs
- Works with outside vendors/fabricators
Typical Education and Relevant Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering 0-3 + years relevant experience
- Associates degree in mechanical engineering 3-5 + years relevant experience
- Experience in the HVAC industry or in a related area encouraged but not required
- Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office, working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Auto Cad
- Basic electrical/controls knowledge desired but not required
