SOLAR FX Corporation (SFX) seeks a licensed and experienced Class A Journeyman Electrician for our solar projects. There will also be opportunities for local residential, agricultural, and small commercial projects. We specialize in providing solar energy arrays to agricultural, commercial, and at times residential customers. We are committed to leading the world into a new era of solar power and energy conservation. As our Journeyman, you will play a critical role in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of solar energy systems. You will provide your hands-on technical expertise to ensure installations meet national and local electrical codes, and provide guidance on the integration of fixed-angle PV arrays, single-axis trackers, inverters, battery backup systems, and other advanced solar technologies. You will be responsible for installing and inspecting National Electrical Manufacturer Association (NEMA)-rated electrical boxes at every project site, ensuring all components are set up safely and according to industry standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform electrical installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including fixed-angle arrays, single-axis trackers, inverters, battery backup systems, and NEMA-rated electrical boxes.
Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local and national safety regulations.
Install and maintain inverters, wiring, conduit, batteries and associated gear, and grounding systems for solar arrays at agricultural and commercial sites.
Conduct detailed inspections and troubleshooting of solar systems, identifying and resolving electrical issues to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Review electrical designs and prints as provided by our solar PV engineer. Collaborate with supervisor, field technician, and customers to ensure optimal system performance and design compliance.
Install, commission, and maintain monitoring platforms on our installation sites.
Install, test, and maintain NEMA-rated electrical boxes at every installation site, ensuring the safety and durability of the electrical infrastructure.
Provide guidance on system interconnection, grid-tied and off-grid configurations, and power distribution.
Inspect systems to determine whether repairs are needed and make replacements as needed.
Ensure a strong culture of safety, adhering to OSHA standards and company safety protocols at all times.
Stay updated on the latest solar technology advancements, electrical code changes, and best practices in the solar industry.
Continued education to maintain Journeyman As license.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Class A Journeyman license is required.
3+ years of electrical experience, with 1-2 years working on solar PV installations preferred.
Expertise in the installation and maintenance of electrical work on fixed-angle PV arrays, singleaxis trackers, inverters, and other solar components preferred.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety regulations.
Experience with NEMA-rated electrical enclosures, including installation and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and solar array designs.
Familiarity with grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid solar systems, including interconnection requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
NABCEP certification or willingness to obtain it. Experience working in agricultural environments or on medium-scale commercial solar installations.
Familiarity with solar monitoring and troubleshooting software.
Prior experience working in small or family-run businesses preferred.
Be able to generate your own leads in the small business sector outside of the solar industry.
Interest in obtaining your Master A Electrical License.
Ability to take the lead in electrical projects while teaching and coaching apprentices under your oversight.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to adapt to all weather conditions (heat and cold) and be willing to work in them.

Simple IRA after 90 days with the company. SFX will match the employees contribution up to 3%.
