Position: Equipment Repair/Carpenter
Reports to: Director of Facilities Management
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Proficient in using electrical/manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Previous experience in skill area.
- Must hold a valid drivers license.
- Work cooperatively with students, teachers and co-workers.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To keep all district buildings and facilities in such a state of operating excellence that they present no interruptions to the educational program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
- Construct cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated.
- All multi-skilled personnel in the construction trades will be proficient in their area and be able to do whatever is necessary to complete the job assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract
