Position: Equipment Repair/Carpenter

Reports to: Director of Facilities Management

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. Proficient in using electrical/manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
3. Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
4. Previous experience in skill area.
5. Must hold a valid drivers license.
6. Work cooperatively with students, teachers and co-workers.
7. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: To keep all district buildings and facilities in such a state of operating excellence that they present no interruptions to the educational program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
2. Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
3. Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
4. Construct cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated.
5. All multi-skilled personnel in the construction trades will be proficient in their area and be able to do whatever is necessary to complete the job assigned.
6. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
