CAD Technician - Energy Team

Job Summary:

This position accurately completes drafting projects, and other exhibits from survey field data, notes, and aerial photographs within assigned project deadline. This employee will specialize in oil, gas, and pipeline drafting. The right candidate could be considered for a remote position.

Accountability and Duties:

  • Drafting projects and exhibits include:

  • oil and gas locations for permit

  • as-drill permit exhibits

  • preliminary pipeline route exhibits

  • pipeline right of way exhibits

  • topographic surveys

  • as-built sheets

  • well pad and facility exhibits

  • plan/profile survey plats

  • pre-construction alignment sheets

  • easement exhibits

  • writing metes and bounds

  • reduce and import data

  • managing a crew - a plus

  • Keeps supervisors informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services

  • Maintains a good relationship with clients and staff

  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Valid driver's license.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma and/or CAD Tech education
  • 1-5 years of CAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D Preferred)
  • Entry level staff require significant supervision while experienced technicians require minimal supervision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Identify complex problems and review information related to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations.
  • Available to work overtime as needed to complete projects
  • Available to occasionally work in the field performing surveying tasks
  • knowledge of industry related software
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Desire to learn and improve CAD skills and survey knowledge
  • Must be fluent in the English language

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments.
