Provide quality finishes on a variety of surfaces, including, block, brick, wood, drywall, plaster, etc. Finishes involved are oil-based and water based stains; oil-based and latex paints, and any other finish the job requires.
Facilities and Business Services has an internal promotion system for their craftsman personnel that allows personnel to advance thru progressive pay grades. This tiered promotion system within a job series is based on experience, certification requirements and task qualification standards.

Essential Functions
Prepare all types of surfaces both interior and exterior to be painted, block, brick, wood, drywall, etc. Correctly apply a wide variety of products as the job requires, oil-based products, latex products, sealers, stains, etc. Mix paints and stains as designated. Tape, mud, and finish drywall, sand, prime, and paint. Ability to clean brushes, spray guns, rollers appropriately depending on the type of product utilized. Have a good understanding of paint sheen from flat to high gloss. Ability to correctly select the correct brush type, roller nap, or other applicator to get the best finish possible. Ability to match colors to existing finishes, especially mixing and matching stains. Ability to climb ladders, work off scaffolding, or use appropriate lifts in order to paint any required surface on campus. Ability to learn and apply newly developed products as they become available. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of professional painting experience.
Preferred Qualifications Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday - Friday 7 am - 3 pm.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Pay grade 6. Benefits Information
