The A/D Technician will help with assembly and disassembly of a wide variety of cranes. Shall follow the direction of the A/D Director and ensure the quality of their work and the work of other personnel. The A/D tech shall communicate with the A/D Director, Superintendents, and crew(s) when required. Shall have willingness to gain knowledge of the manufacturer procedures required to safely and properly assemble and disassemble cranes and how to troubleshoot problems as they arise as an A/D Tech and work towards becoming a A/D Director and a sir technician. Shall display good judgment and a strong work ethic with little guidance from management.
A/D Technician shall work with crews and ensure the cranes are assembled/disassembled correctly using the correct equipment, positioning, load chart, radius, rigging, etc. Shall also ensure that all crews are complying with Company and OSHA requirements, all are wearing proper PPE, body positioning, and completing the Job Hazard Analysis before tasks are executed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to retain detailed knowledge and experience in assembling and disassembling a wide variety of lattice boom crawlers, telecrawlers, and RTs according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Develop a full working knowledge of prohibitions, warnings, and cautions relative to assembling or disassembling each specific Make, model, and type of crane.
- Develop a good working knowledge and understanding of load-handling equipment Crawler Cranes, Swing Cabs, and Fix Cabs, rigging, and safe load-handling procedures.
- Shall assist the A/D Director in recording and maintain a thorough inspection of every part of the crane prior to assembly, disassembly, or repair to document the condition of the crane and components.
- Shall gain experience and knowledge of troubleshooting communication issues, error codes, and basic electrical and hydraulic issues with cranes.
- Shall be level-headed, respectful, and able to teach and be a good mentor to superintendents, operators, riggers, and others.
- Shall be self-motivated and always stay productive and efficient to move the Project forward, even when there are delays outside of their control while on the job site.
- Shall have an understanding and drive to control costs as much as they are able by getting trucks off the project, avoiding calling out of third-party mechanic if you can perform the work yourself, and communicating delays to their superintendent without delay.
- Shall work towards getting a license to operate a crawler crane or swing cab crane as an extra duty when needed. Shall maintain crane certifications and current DOT once obtained and have the ability to operate all cranes in Audubon fleet and or rentals.
- Shall be able to travel on moment's notice when needed.
- Extra duties may be added to better support Audubon and the filed operations.
- Shall maintain a positive culture and display extreme ownership at all times.
- Shall have basic knowledge and competency regarding OSHA and ASME requirements.
- Ability to gain detailed knowledge of heavy-lifting cranes and technologies.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- A/D Tech's are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. This includes but is not limited to dressing appropriately and acting with respect and courtesy in all interactions, both with Audubon personnel and the public.
- As A/D Tech, you and all other Audubon employees are considered representatives of Audubon both on and off the clock. Your conduct reflects the company, so it's important to exercise sound judgment in all situations.
- A/D Techs, A/D Directors and Superintendents are responsible for fostering a professional culture within their teams. This includes enforcing expectations for conduct and appearance and holding themselves and their team members accountable for upholding the company's professional image.

- C&R A/D Tech 1 (3 - 10 years)
