Building Maintenance Tech/Plumber

Building Maintenance Technician/Plumber PT or FT The Town of Longmeadow,MA DPW is seeking qualified applicants for the PT (20 hours per week) orFT (40 hours per week) position of Building MaintenancesTechnician/HVAC. Position is responsible for skilled plumbing/heatingand gas fitting work at the journeyman level and other maintenance workas assigned. Successful candidate must have: Knowledge of relevantMassachusetts General Laws related to essential functions. Knowledge offacilities maintenance and working knowledge of hazards and safetyprecautions common to plumbing and heating maintenance and repairactivities. Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, andtools used in modern plumbing repair and maintenance. Ability tomulti-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability tocommunicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintaingood public relations and to maintain effective collaborative workingrelationships with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees,officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous andprofessional manner. Ability to meet deadlines and project timetables.Ability to work independently. Ability to plan work schedule tocoordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion ofprojects. Strong communication skills, problem solving skills andcustomer service skills. Strong skill in operating tools and equipment.Associates degree or journeyman level in the trades or licenses, and 3to 5 years of related experience or any equivalent combination ofeducation, training, certification, and experience. Must demonstrate afull understanding of applicable codes, policies, procedures, and workmethods associated with assigned duties. Must have ability to work fromblueprints or create own plan when needed. Must have and maintain validMassachusetts journeyman plumbing license.; must have ability to workfrom blueprints or create own plan when needed; must have and maintain avalid driver\'s license; Must be able to pass a CORI check.
