Location: Ruskin, FL - Full Time, On-Site
About the Role:
Giffels-Webster Engineers (GWE) is hiring Construction Inspectors for a multi-year septic-to-sewer conversion in Ruskin, FL. This full-time, on-site CEI (Construction Engineering Inspection) role involves daily inspection of underground utility workincluding vacuum sewer, gravity mains, and force mains.
You'll work closely with the Construction Manager and Construction Engineer to monitor progress, document field conditions, and ensure contractor compliance. This is not a production or crew leadership role.
We strongly encourage experienced construction professionalsincluding former superintendents or foremen with utility backgroundsto apply. Your production knowledge is highly valuable in this inspection role.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect utility work for compliance with plans, specs, and permits
Prepare daily inspection reports with photos and notes
Coordinate with contractors, County staff, and engineering team
Monitor safety, restoration, and workmanship
Document punch list items, testing, and closeout tasks
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience inspecting or building water/sewer utility systems
Ability to read civil plans and understand pipe installation methods
Strong communication and documentation skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
CEI or municipal project experience is a plus
