Sandblast Operator 1st Shift

Sandblast Operator Job Description As a Sandblast Operator, you will perform essential paint preparation duties using air-powered sandblasting equipment, grinders, needle guns, and other hand or power tools to ensure surfaces are ready for painting. You will inspect each item, remove weld splatter, excess welds, and sharp edges, and mark any mis-welds or quality defects in trailers. Occasionally, you may operate a forklift to move materials around the shop. Responsibilities Perform paint preparation using sandblasting equipment and various tools. Inspect items for weld splatter, excess welds, and sharp edges. Mark mis-welds and quality defects in trailers. Operate a forklift to move materials when necessary. Essential Skills 1+ year of grinding/prepping experience in an industrial setting Proficient in sandblasting and using power tools Experience in paint preparation Additional Skills & Qualifications Blueprint reading experience is a plus Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a laid-back fab shop with a focus on teamwork and quality. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety boots with metatarsal guards, and potentially a respirator. Work takes place on the first shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgman, Michigan. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
