PRT-Staffing is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Form Carpenters for exciting new commercial construction projects in Fort Myers, FL. Our client is a premier commercial builder, commencing with the crucial phase of laying a massive concrete building pad. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your specialized expertise on a significant project that adheres to federal wage standards.
This is a Davis-Bacon prevailing wage jobsite.
What You'll Be Doing:
Construct, erect, strip, and dismantle complex wooden and metal forms for pouring large-scale concrete foundations, walls, columns, and slabs, specifically for a large commercial building pad.Precisely interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine accurate layout, dimensions, and specifications for formwork.Measure, cut, and shape lumber, plywood, and other formwork materials with exceptional accuracy using a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., table saws, miter saws, pneumatic nailers).Accurately install embeds, rebar chairs, block-outs, and other necessary components within formwork to ensure proper concrete placement and subsequent structural connections.Ensure all forms are accurately aligned, plumb, level, square, and securely braced to withstand the significant pressure of wet concrete.Collaborate closely and effectively with concrete finishers, ironworkers, general laborers, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow and project efficiency.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, strictly adhering to all jobsite safety protocols and Davis-Bacon site regulations.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a Form Carpenter on commercial concrete construction projects.Proven expertise in building and stripping complex concrete forms for large-scale pours (e.g., building pads, foundations, retaining walls).Strong ability to read and interpret intricate blueprints, layout plans, and structural drawings.High proficiency with all carpentry tools essential for formwork, including various saws, drills, levels, measuring instruments, and bracing equipment.Exceptional commitment to precision, accuracy, and rigorous adherence to safety standards on a Davis-Bacon jobsite.Ability to work full-time hours, including potential overtime as project demands.Reliable transportation to the jobsite in Fort Myers, FL.OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification strongly preferred.
