Mechanical Design Engineer

Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Plano, TX , 75024 Duration: 6 Months Note: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Automation Systems @ Plano, TX daily in-person role, no travel expected, but expecting M-F 40+ hours in person in our labs! OT optionally available, up to 10 hours per week during heavy design weeks! Description: Strong automation & machine building design experience 10+ years' experience doing automated machine design with at least 5+ years being the lead/sole/primary designer Ability to design the way from concept to detailed design of a full system ON THEIR OWN! Automation design experience should include experience incorporating steppers & servo motors, all types of sensors, complex motion systems or robots, etc.. Ability to calculate/estimate and then spec automation components to incorporate into designs Automated sorting or pick & place system design experience is a plus! Should also naturally have experience integrating designs with control/electrical systems General machinery/automation/robotics safety and ergonomic design familiarity Experience with design compliance to FDA/NSF (food safety requirements) and/or ANSI/ISO (machinery safety requirements) is a plus! MUST BE Hands on & interested to help build/prototype and test solutions too! Minimum 5+ years SolidWorks experience Food/Kitchen Equipment or Food Processing Equipment design experience is a plus! Responsibilities: Hands on building, testing and designing IVY bag assembly line machines Looking for someone with automation machine designing experience He/ She will be the sole and primary designer so looking for SME Design experience can be - assembly lines, conveyors, packing related, material handling related equipment's, factory materials for food processing, robotics, etc.. (open for any) Hands on experience with Motors, motion systems, sensors, etc.. Should know the PLC type of work Any food related experience would be a plus Machinery safety is a plus Experience: Solid works expertise is must (5+ yrs) Not looking for product design engineer but automation design engineer Looking for a candidate coming from a company that builds machines primarily Skillsets: Solid works, Automation Education: Prefer Bachelor's however open for equivalent experience.
