PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Maintain all AISD HVAC system air filtration devices as required to meet department responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

Must have valid Texas driver's license and satisfactory driving record

KNOWLEDGE:

Working knowledge of basic mechanical techniques

Knowledge of HVAC systems desirable

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow all AISD safety procedures as covered in AISD safety handbook

Abide by all AISD policies and procedures as outlined in AISD auxiliary employee handbook

Assume responsibility for safe operation and care of assigned service vehicle tools and equipment

Assume responsibility for personal time card

Responsibility for air filter maintenance within assigned zone. Secondary responsibility is to assist in the maintenance of all AISD facility air handler systems and sub-systems. Complete programmed maintenance procedures in assigned zone. Backup other mechanics in duties assigned within their zone responsibilities.

Maintain facility air handler systems as directed by department foreman.

Coordinate, organize and complete daily assignments assuming responsibility for proper documentation regarding assigned task, work orders and procurement of supplies.

Initiate work orders within assigned zones as needs are recognized by zone employee.

Assume responsibility for daily directives as given by appropriate administrators.

Assume all other duties as assigned to serve the needs determined to be in the best interest of the AISD.

Maintain effective and positive public relations rapport within assigned department and with all other areas of contact.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Power, hand and pneumatic tools, drills, saws, shears, snips, refrigerant pressure gauges, multi-meters, testers, leak detectors, man lifts, scaffolds and ladders and two-way communication devices.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoor and outdoor work environment; subject to noise from equipment operation; regular exposure to fumes, dust dirt, oil and grease.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent walking, standing, crouching, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling bending, reaching overhead and horizontally; occasionally move objects up to 75 pounds; ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding ramps, and poles.

Use of tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.

Regularly operate a light truck or van.

Work for sustained periods of time maintaining attention to detail.

Walking over rough or uneven surfaces.
