Day Shift Welder and Fabricator**

**Job Description**

The Welder and Fabricator will be responsible for mechanical component fabrication and is expected to possess knowledge of applicable processes and standards related to parts machining, welding, design, and fabrication. The role requires interfacing with Mechanical Engineers and Designers to discuss fabrication methods and processes, performing manual tasks such as rust treatment, painting, material removal, metal grinding, cutting, and application of various solutions. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, and comfort in working in confined spaces and at heights, is essential. Additionally, maintaining and adhering to operational procedures and work instructions, following work orders, and assisting in the preparation of reports and appropriate documentation, including following test procedures and recording results, are crucial responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**

+ Fabricate mechanical components using machining, welding, design, and fabrication processes.

+ Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and Designers to discuss fabrication methods and processes.

+ Perform manual tasks such as rust treatment, painting, material removal, metal grinding, cutting, and application of various solutions.

+ Work independently and as part of a team, including in confined spaces and at heights.

+ Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions.

+ Follow work orders and assist in the preparation of reports and documentation.

+ Follow test procedures and accurately record results.

**Essential Skills**

+ Proficiency in Mig and Tig welding.

+ Experience in fabrication and production.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Skill in using tape measures, grinding, and welding equipment.

+ Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

+ Proven problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

+ Experience with basic powered and hand tools.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in shop, steel, structural, and welding fabrication.

+ AWS certification for various metals is advantageous.

+ Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.

+ Experience with fitting and flux core welding.

+ Ability to lead small project teams and provide guidance to new or entry-level employees.

**Work Environment**

The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of welding procedures obtained through prior work experience or education. Vocational or technical education is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. The physical demands include the use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment, as well as standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Visual abilities include focusing on items less than 20 inches away (corrected or uncorrected), seeing in three dimensions, and distinguishing all colors.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $22.11 - $22.11/hr.
