Position Overview
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic III is focused on ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of equipment and facilities in a chemical manufacturing facility.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, assemble and install chemical plant equipment.
- Assist in developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program.
- Assist in ordering parts.
- Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits.
- Plans, obtains cost estimates and executes projects under guidance of supervisor.
- Support installation of new equipment and provides facilities improvements.
- Coordinate, supervise and monitor vendors/contractors coming on site (e.g. safety shoes, landscaping, pest control, construction personnel).
- Conducts formal/informal inspections and evaluates physical condition of the facilities.
- Will evaluate, troubleshoot, establish priorities, follow plans and complete goals/objectives.
- Works safely by observing safety rules, policies, procedures and identify unsafe conditions or actions to management.
- Will track inventories, spare parts, initiate Purchase Orders.
- Will monitor HVAC systems.
- Maintains a clean work environment in the chemical plant, shop, grounds, etc. as well as any areas worked in.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years maintenance mechanic experience preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge in operating and performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment. (UPW, Mechanical, Electrical, Heating and Cooling Systems, Fixtures and Systems, Liquid Industrial Waste Systems Chemical and Gas Delivery Systems).
- Ability to comprehend technical and safety documentation.
- Knowledge and ability to use MS applications (excel, word, outlook)
- Software skill knowledge of CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system)
- Experience in LOTO (Lok-out Tag-out)
Education Qualifications
- HS graduate. Prefer trade or vocational school.
- Certified or proven deep experience in areas of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and welding.

- Work location: Onsite, Full-time, Hillsboro, Oregon
- % travel time expected = 0 or as needed based on special request only.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs at times
- Ability to Stand-Up / Sit-Down for extended periods of time based on specific project
