Slayden Constructors Inc SCI a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors Inc MWH is currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to support a critical infrastructure construction project in Mill City Oregon Slayden Constructors is a leader in the civil construction industry in the Pacific Northwest focused on water and wastewater infrastructure Over the last 40 years we have ingrained our reputation with our clients on successful projects bringing positive impacts to local communities Grow your career with a team that is committed to delivering quality projects timely and safely while supporting our guiding principles People Matter Team Unity Solutions Driven and Forward Focused Essential Functions Prepare the layout of the projectEstimate height width length and other proportionsSelect materialsWork with blueprints or instructions from supervisorsWork with materials such as wood plastic fiberglass or drywallUtilize chisels planes saws drills and sanders to repair and erect structuresJoin materials with nails screws staples or adhesivesWork on top of stilts ladders and the top beams of buildingsCheck work along the way to ensure its up to code and specificationsUse levels rules plumb bobs framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secureWork with prefabricated buildingsBuild stairs mantles and furnitureInstall cabinets and moldingRemodel businessesCreate structures for pouring concreteErect scaffoldingBuild tunnel bracingBuild concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction projectReplace panes of glass ceiling tiles and doorsRepair or build furnitureInstall partitions doors and windowsMove and install machineryPerform other duties as assignedAdhere to the MWH safety programBasic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalentPrior experience working as a carpenter in a commercial industrial or facilities operations setting including rough and finished carpentryMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid drivers licenseMaintains a constant drive to achieve production outputs in order to meet targetsRequired to communicate information ideas directions with the capability to perform the task or project discussedMust be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with utmost regard to safetyPre employment drug screening and background checks requiredIf requested the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that heshe has had a physical examination in connection with the application and are physically fit to perform the workBenefits Health Insurance medical dental and visionPaid Time Off sick timePaid Parental Leave Program401k Plan company matching contributions up to 4Employee Referral ProgramPlease note that all positions require pre employment screening including drug and background check as a condition of employment LI AS1 LI ONSITE
