THE WORK:

  • You'll supervise and manage Project Safety Managers (PSMs), ensuring workforce effectiveness and adherence to safety standards.
  • You'll oversee consistent application of LAWA Construction Safety & Phasing Requirements (CSPR) across projects.
  • You'll evaluate PSM workloads, review safety reports, incident logs, and provide regular performance evaluations.
  • You'll conduct regular project site walks with PSMs and review safety observations and Task Hazard Analyses (THAs).
  • You'll review project safety metrics and reports in coordination with PSMs to ensure compliance and improvement.
  • You'll serve as a member or co-chair on the Airport Development Group Construction Safety Advisory Council.
  • You'll collaborate with PSMs, contractors, inspectors, and project teams to enforce effective safety programs.
  • You'll take direct responsibility for safety oversight on assigned construction projects.
  • You'll regularly meet with LAWA inspectors to maintain consistency in applying safety requirements.
  • You'll review contractor safety plans and field performance to assess effectiveness and compliance.
  • You'll ensure PSMs verify contractor documentation such as toolbox talks, orientations, inspections, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • You'll participate in project and safety committee meetings to monitor safety efforts and initiatives.
  • You'll utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and construction software (e.g., Procore, PMWeb) to create reports and presentations.
  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

$170,181 - $187,200 a year

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Massachusetts, Illinois, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, or Washington as set forth below.

Qualification

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • The Assistant Safety Manager III must at a minimum have an active Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP), a CSP, a Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Five years of experience providing safety oversight on vertical, tunnel or heavy civil construction type projects.

  • Supervisory experience of other safety professionals
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual a plus)
  • Solid people skills with professional demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate safety policies and practices
  • Must have analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities
  • Must be able to write reports based on safety observations, incorporate photos, and distribute
  • Balanced approach to technical, business and people aspects of business
