3D CAD Specialist, World Wide Design Engineering

The WWDE CAD team is seeking a 3D CAD Specialist to complement our team. This individual will be responsible for creating both detailed and high-level models of warehouse designs, material handling equipment, and workstations based on inputs from partner engineering teams, as well as providing design support for future innovations. Models will require a high level of detail and a thorough understanding of the functional requirements of the design. In addition, responsibilities will include new workflow development and continuous process improvement for existing workflows.

Key job responsibilities
Work with ambiguous direction to create deliverables that provide clarity to stakeholders and leadership about design intent.
Innovate with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and mechatronics across 100+ new fulfillment and logistics centers that are being built each year.
Collaborate with internal teams to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
Manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
Research and develop new methods and techniques to successfully accomplish requested work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other STEM field, or 5+ years Amazon experience
2+ years experience in Design/Innovation Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, or related
Experience must involve working with engineering design projects involving Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
3+ years of solid and parametric modeling experience
Experience working or interacting with Autodesk Revit
Ability to create visualizations utilizing software (PowerPoint, Snagit, etc.) for design presentations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years experience in a fast-paced design environment utilizing both Autodesk Inventor and/or Revit
Experience working with AutoCAD
Familiarity with online file document management systems, such as BIM360 and ACC
Ability to establish priorities, work independently or within a group, and work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous direction
Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
