Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) calibration and development. This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging, fast-paced engineering environment where you'll gain hands-on experience with advanced emissions systems, diagnostics, and regulatory compliance.

You will contribute to key initiatives involving the design, testing, and validation of OBD functionality in support of current and future emissions standards.

Key Responsbilities

Testing Activities

  • Operate heavy-duty engine dynamometer test cells

  • Execute test procedures efficiently and accurately

  • Review and validate data to ensure test result reliability

Dataset Function Ownership

  • Calibrate OBD functionality for aftertreatment system components such as catalysts, filters, and sensors

  • Verify OBD monitor performance and robustness through analysis of data from trucks, test cells, and simulations

  • Plan, execute, and interpret development and verification testing

  • Innovate OBD algorithms in alignment with future regulatory requirements

  • Apply advanced analytical methods to support monitor testing and design

  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation and presentations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • 2-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in engine calibration, aftertreatment systems, or OBD development

  • Strong practical knowledge of tools, testing techniques, and validation methods

  • Regulatory Knowledge - proven understanding of CARB and EPA OBD standards

  • Ability to interpret, implement, and validate diagnostics in compliance with emissions regulations

  • Familiarity with regulatory documentation and test procedures
