A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Hagerstown, MD area. An OBD Calibration Engineer is responsible for operating engine test cells, analyzing diagnostic data, and developing innovative OBD algorithms to meet CARB and EPA standards within a fast-paced emissions systems engineering team.

responsibilities:
  • Operate advanced heavy-duty engine dynamometer test cells.

  • Execute test procedures efficiently and accurately.

  • Continuously review test results to ensure reliability of data.

  • Calibrate OBD functions for aftertreatment components such as catalysts, filters, and sensors.

  • Verify monitor performance and robustness via test data analysis from various sources (trucks, test cells, etc.).

  • Plan and interpret development and verification tests.

  • Innovate and refine OBD algorithms in line with future CARB and EPA emissions standards.

  • Apply analytical methods to support monitor testing and design.

  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, both written and verbal.
Experience: Experience from 2 to 5 years in the area of Engine or aftertreatment calibration is required.
