Orbital is seeking a Sr. Project Scheduler I to join a team of specialists based out of Oklahoma City, OK; Duluth, MN; or Charlotte, NC that supports a vast portfolio of projects in the field of Electric Utility Design and Construction. Project types include Transmission substation and line as well as Distribution substation and line. Projects are constructed throughout the states of Oklahoma, Minnesota or North Carolina.

The Sr. Project Scheduler I position is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week required in office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Entry and Maintenance: Inputting project data into the Primavera P6 system, including project activities, durations, resources, and relationships between tasks. You will also be responsible for regularly updating and maintaining the schedule as the project progresses.
  • Schedule Monitoring: Assisting in monitoring project progress by comparing actual work completed to the planned Identifying discrepancies and helping to develop corrective action plans.
  • Generating Reports: Supporting and producing regular schedule reports and schedule updates for project This may involve extracting data from P6 and presenting it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Resource Management: Assisting in managing project resources by ensuring they are properly assigned to activities and responsible groups are identified accurately.
  • Risk Assessment: Supporting the identification and analysis of potential schedule risks and assisting in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Working with the project team to collect information, verify progress, and ensure that the schedule reflects the most up-to-date status of the project. Includes hosting and/or attending regularly scheduled project meetings to maintain working knowledge of project status and gather information needed to complete required tasks.
  • Training and Learning: Continuously learning and improving your knowledge of Primavera P6, project scheduling best practices, and project management processes and practices. Candidate must be willing to ask questions and seek training required to properly execute tasks
  • Adherence to Standards: Following established scheduling procedures, company guidelines, and industry best practices to maintain data integrity and consistency.

As a Sr. Project Scheduler I with 10-15 years' experience, the selected candidate is expected to possess vast experience and expertise in project scheduling using Primavera P6. Candidate applying for the Sr. Project Scheduler I role should be comfortable working independently and must be capable of handling more complex projects. Responsibilities involve a high level of independence in managing schedules and collaborating with project teams. Sr. Project Scheduler I may even be tasked with assisting less experienced schedulers and team members by providing guidance, training, and support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field (Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or similar) with 10-15 Years of Scheduling Experience
  • Professional certification / training related to Project Management or Scheduling
  • Extensive experience with Electric Utility Transmission and Distribution Projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scheduling software (P6. Microsoft Project)
  • Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Must exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to
  • Must exhibit strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and have ability to prioritize.
  • Must be competent in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe).
  • Must be able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.
  • This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.
