General Laborer Job Description As a General Laborer, you will play a vital role in the unloading and transportation of raw materials for concrete production. You will work with conveyor systems and rail cars to efficiently offload and store materials in silos, ensuring seamless integration into the manufacturing process. This position requires handling heavy materials, adherence to safety protocols, and working in physically demanding conditions. Responsibilities Safely offload inbound materials from rail cars. Connect conveyor systems to containers for unloading raw materials. Transport raw materials to silos for storage. Check and verify labels when unloading materials. Handle heavy materials, lifting up to 50 lbs. Maintain safety standards while performing unloading and transportation tasks. Essential Skills Experience in loading and unloading trucks. Inventory management skills. Proficiency in packing and order picking. Mechanical aptitude. General labor experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in warehouse operations. Work Environment Work in a cement supply facility with exposure to extreme heat and noise. You will be part of a small team of 2-3 people, working together to meet production goals. Protective equipment is required, and the dress code includes long pants, a t-shirt, and 6-inch lace-up steel-toe boots. The role involves a 1st shift schedule from 7am-4pm, with potential for early starts or late finishes.
