Description
Mill Creek Lumber is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Inside Sales Manager (Door & Hardware Specialist) to support commercial projects with a focus on commercial doors, frames, and hardware. This individual will work closely with customers, vendors, and the Mill Creek sales team to ensure accurate ordering, scheduling, and successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive product knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience managing complex construction supply needs.
This role includes an incentive plan in addition to a generous salary and a moving package is included for the right candidate who is interested in moving to the Oklahoma City, OK area.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Customer Support
Understand the commercial construction market and contribute to strategic growth planning.
Assist customers and outside sales team members in selecting the most suitable products based on job specifications and compliance needs.
Product & Specification Expertise
Ability to read commercial blueprints / plans and perform a detailed takeoff of large commercial projects
Maintain deep knowledge of doors, frames, and hardware including fire ratings, ADA compliance, and applicable building codes (e.g., NFPA 80, ANSI/BHMA).
Provide accurate and timely advice on product compatibility, handing, finishes, and sizing.
Vendor & Manufacturer Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers such as, but not limited to: ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, Steelcraft, Timely, VT Industries and De La Fontaine.
Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and lead times to secure competitive margins and reliable supply.
Project Coordination & Procurement
Review construction documents and schedules to align material purchases with project milestones.
Generate and track purchase orders for each branch, ensuring proper quantities and timely delivery.
Coordinate production and delivery schedules with customers and internal teams.
Order Accuracy & Systems Management
Accurately enter orders and project details into internal systems to ensure ordering and scheduling precision.
Track project tickets, backorders, and materials through delivery to the jobsite, resolving issues as they arise.
Technical Proficiency
Use Procore to monitor project production, cost tracking, and margin management.
Utilize Avaware to prepare estimates and submittal packages.
Assist with processing pay applications in Procore, ERP and/or BisTrack systems.
Communication & Team Collaboration
Collaborate effectively with project managers, estimators, installers, and field supervisors to ensure accurate delivery and customer satisfaction.
Communicate clearly with vendors and team members to troubleshoot issues and keep projects on schedule.

- Strong understanding of fire-rated assemblies, ADA requirements, and building code compliance.
- Experience using Procore, Avaware, Bluebeam and ERP software like BisTrack preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
