Are you a Civil Engineer passionate about renewable energy, utility design, and site development? Fisher Associates is hiring a Design Engineer to support energy infrastructure projects across solar, wind, electric and gas utilities, pipelines, and power systems.

What You'll Do as an Energy Design Engineer
Design site layout, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater and erosion control solutions.
Develop plans, calculations, estimates, reports, and construction documents.
Support stormwater and environmental permitting initiatives.
Ensure designs comply with state and local regulations, safety codes, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate project records, including design documents, progress reports, and budget information.
Lead environmental assessments and permitting, collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies to secure approvals.
Support electric, gas, and telecom utility design and Environmental Management & Construction Plans (EM&CP).
Oversee construction progress to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.
Participate in project planning and align engineering tasks with scope, schedule, and budget.
Prepare proposals and cost estimates for renewable energy, oil & gas and utility projects.
Proactively support internal teams with documentation, coordination, and presentations.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements
What You Bring, Your Expertise as an Energy Design Engineer
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
5-10 years of civil engineering experience in energy, utilities, or land development
EIT required; PE preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (MicroStation a plus)
Experience with National Grid, National Fuel Gas, or other utility projects
Experience with local zoning and planning reviews, DOT permitting, NYS SEQR and NYS Article VII/VIII requirements preferred.
Experience with stormwater design, calculations and permitting preferred.
