Surface Mining Market Development Manager
The primary purpose of the Surface Mining Market Development Manager's role is identifying new market opportunities, key customer segments and expansion strategies to accelerate revenue growth thereby supporting the short-term and long-term sales objective for the entire Surface Miner product line by successfully accomplishing the following.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Thrives in a results-oriented environment with the ability to decide and execute independently.
Learns, maintains, and consistently expands knowledge and understanding of company products, services, processes, and procedures, along with their value propositions.
Develops a detailed understanding of WIRTGEN's product offerings and identifies opportunities for further product development based on enduser requirements.
Communicates value-added messaging in front of large groups, tailored to the client's situation, and offers customized solutions that meet their needs.
Build and maintain relationships with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers in targeted markets.
Identifies new market opportunities, key customer segments, and expansion strategies to accelerate revenue growth and support shortterm and long-term sales objectives.
Manages and communicates sales opportunities effectively.
Investigates and resolves customer problems from a commercial and managerial perspective.
Maintains excellent cold calling efforts to drive business into new accounts and territories.
Works closely with the service department to address service issues and provide solutions.
Accompanies and monitors Surface Miner demonstrations across North America.
Educates new leads on company products and services, understanding and identifying client needs.
Establishes, maintains, and grows relationships across a wide spectrum of potential and existing customers through attendance at trade shows, sales floors, and other industry-specific events.
Provides feedback and fosters communication with the factory to assist with product development, sales, and marketing strategies.
Follows up regularly on product deployment, evaluates and reports on product performance, and provides feedback to the company in support of product development and client satisfaction.
Travel of up to 80% is to be expected.
Education / Experience & Skills:
5 years of Experience in Mining Industry Development.
Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mineral Engineering.
Profound knowledge of different mining technologies is required, geotechnical knowledge would be an additional plus.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
