Market Development Manager
The primary purpose of the Market Development Manager's role is identifying new market opportunities, key customer segments and expansion strategies to accelerate revenue growth thereby supporting the short-term and long-term sales objective for the entire Wirtgen America product line by successfully accomplishing the following.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Thrives in a results-oriented environment with the ability to decide and execute independently.
Work in a results-driven environment, making decisions and executing plans to help achieve sales objectives.
Engage in ongoing learning about our products, services, and processes to understand how they provide value to our customers. This role offers significant developmental opportunities to enhance your skills.
Develop a foundational understanding of WIRTGEN's product offerings and look for ways to improve based on customer feedback.
Present value-added information to clients, tailoring messages to meet their specific needs and offering solutions.
Start to build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the market, fostering connections that can lead to career advancement.
Assist in identifying new market opportunities and customer segments to support revenue growth and your professional development.
Help manage and communicate sales opportunities effectively, contributing to the success of the team.
Assist in investigating and resolving customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
Engage in cold calling efforts to help bring new business into the company, gaining valuable experience in the process.
Work closely with the service department to address any service-related issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
Participate in product demonstrations across North America to learn and support sales efforts.
Help educate potential customers about our products and services, identifying their needs and enhancing your sales skills.
Attend trade shows, sales events, and other industry-specific gatherings to build relationships and promote our products, all while expanding your professional network.
Provide feedback to the team and help communicate insights to support product development and sales strategies.
Be prepared for travel of up to 80% as part of the role, gaining exposure to diverse markets and experiences.
Education / Experience & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
