Electrician Reports to: Contract Manager Location: Palo Alto, CA Employment Status: On-call FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:00pm Position Summary: Aldevra is seeking a skilled Electrician to support operations at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. The candidate will hold a valid California C-10 electrician's license (or equivalent), demonstrates advanced problem-solving capabilities, and is experienced in maintaining a wide range of electrical systems in healthcare or industrial environments. This position is contingent upon contract award. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: + Maintenance, installation, modification, repair, and testing of electrical systems (including panels, circuits, and emergency systems) + Troubleshooting systems including generators, fire alarms, and automatic transfer switches + Reading and interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals + Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on high-voltage equipment (up to 12,000 volts) + Operating and maintaining trade tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, meggers, circuit analyzers + All other duties as assigned. Requirements Security Requirements: + Must be able to obtain VA badge. Workplace Safety and Environment: This role involves work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other facility areas with exposure to electrical systems. Must follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and VA safety protocols, including PPE and lockout/tagout. Physical activity includes climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces. This position requires passing an extensive background check. Qualifications: + California C-10 Electrician's License or equivalent + Full journeyman-level experience and trade knowledge + Ability to apply NEC (National Electrical Code) and local codes + Skilled in troubleshooting complex systems and using hand/power tools + Must be able to read complex technical documentation and interpret it for installation and repair tasks + Must be physically able to work in confined or elevated spaces, and lift up to 100 lbs + Must possess a valid driver's license + Strong communication skills and professional conduct in a VA healthcare environment. + Excellent and accurate written communication. + Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required. + Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry. + Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic. + Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality.
