The Senior Infrastructure Engineer scope of responsibility includes ensuring the technical foundation for Virtualization, Operating Systems, Security, and support of cloud environments. Develops the organizations infrastructure and Obsolescence plans, aligns implementation plans, and ensures effective integration of all IT infrastructure. Administers the company's enterprise Server and Virtualization infrastructures, performing upgrades when necessary, monitoring system performance and planning for capacity. Ensures the companys enterprise IT structure meets standards security Service Level Agreements. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer designs, analyzes, develops, configures and maintains Virtual Infrastructure, Operating Systems, Networks, Servers, Security/Vulnerability Programs and Software Solutions. Begins to influence departments strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer with substantial expertise in desktop virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the configuration and implementation of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune, as well as proficiency in PowerShell scripting. This role involves overseeing software upgrades, installations on physical workstations, and managing both persistent and non-persistent virtual machines.
Responsibilities
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for establishing the technical foundation for virtualization, operating systems, security, and support of both on-premises and cloud environments. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and Implementation: Develop and manage desktop virtualization solutions to enhance user experience and productivity.
- Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy and maintain Microsoft MECM and Intune for software distribution, patch management, and endpoint security.
- Upgrades and Installations: Coordinate software upgrades and new installations on physical workstations in accordance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Virtual Machine Management: Manage virtual machine environments, ensuring optimal performance for both persistent and non-persistent setups.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure requirements and support ongoing projects.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users, addressing infrastructure-related issues.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation related to infrastructure processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to government contract obligations.
- 8 years of technical network engineering experience.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture, network designs, implementations, and support (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Proficiency in end-use device connectivity architecture and implementations.
- Ability to manage complex multi-organizational projects.
- Experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 network architectural design (LAN/WAN).
- Proficient in virtualization technologies (VMware).
- Experience with workstation imaging, patching, and Group Policies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as Kanban and/or Scrum.
