Job Summary
A Builder is responsible for constructing high-quality furniture pieces, from raw materials to finished products. This role requires proficiency in woodworking, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship while meeting production deadlines. You will be using, jointers, planners, bandsaws, table saws and other various woodworking power tools and hand tools.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, design specs, and work orders to build furniture pieces
Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools such as saws, drills, sanders, jointers, table saws, planners, and routers
Assemble furniture components with precision and attention to detail
Ensure all products meet quality and durability standards before finishing
Work with the Shop Steward to improve workflow efficiency and maintain production deadlines
Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment
Follow all workplace safety protocols and report any hazards
Occasionally assist with delivery and assembly of furniture
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in furniture building, cabinetry, or woodworking
Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and woodworking equipment
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective listening and communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials up to 75 lbs
