PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a Structural Mechanic IV to join our highly skilled aerospace team. If you're an experienced structural mechanic with a passion for precision and a desire to make an impact, we want you on our team! In this role, you will work independently to performplex structural assembly tasks, ensuring that our aircraft meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
As a Structural Mechanic IV, you'll play an integral role in the assembly and maintenance of critical aircraftponents, helping to deliver exceptional results for our customers. You'll lead by example, mentoring and training team members while continuously refining your skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Independent Assembly Operations: Perform structural assembly, fitting, and drillingriveting operations to ensure parts and assemblies meet design specifications and customer expectations.
Blue Interpretation: Read and interpretplex schematics, blues, and technical instructions to lay out, fabricate, and install parts on aircraft.
Tools & Equipment: Use specialized tools such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, and other devices toplete tasks with high precision.
Quality Assurance: Perform thorough checks to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection, following internal and FAApliance standards.
Mentor & Train: your expertise by mentoring and training less-experienced team members, assisting with problem-solving and ensuring work ispleted to specifications.
Problem Solving: Develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation difficulties and improve processes.
Documentation: Maintain all logs, records, and paperwork to ensure proper documentation andpliance with quality specifications.
Safety & Organization: Supportpany safety initiatives, maintain a clean work area, andply with all safety regulations and 5SLean programs.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Experience: 6 years of related structural assembly experience in the aerospace industry.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using special tools and equipment, interpreting blues, and solving dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
Attention to Detail: Skilled in close tolerance work, with a strong ability to use various measuring devices within specified tolerances.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or stands as needed.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred:
Software Knowledge: Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam.
Certifications: Q-stamp preferred.
Team Leadership: Prior experience mentoring and leading teams in a technical environment.
