Design Engineer III

Job Title: Design Engineer III

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• The Design Engineer III will perform various tasks assigned by the Senior Engineers and director.
• Ability to independently conduct job site surveys with a complete understanding of the project's intent and be able to analyze and propose design solutions and installation sequencing
• Ability to independently conduct audits and surveys as needed. Record identifying equipment function, tags, location, capacities, photos, etc. Trace piping and ductwork onto field notes
• Ability to independently convert field surveys (sourced from self or others) into useable formats for plan and project development. Assist in planning to size, replace, and retrofit new equipment to replace aged or obsolete equipment
• Participate in the company’s project improvement process by refining standard design practices, calculation spreadsheet templates, updating and establishing standard procedures and practices, and collecting supporting documentation for various projects to be used as references for future projects

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

• Mechanical or Energy Engineering degree
• 4+ years of experience in related engineering field.
• PE license a plus, or in the process of obtaining PE license
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications
• Computer savvy, able to understand and learn new programs
• Demonstrated proficiency with energy simulation software. Developed an understanding of energy management concepts
• Developing an understanding of control sequences, optimal start/stop, PID loop control, and programming.

Compensation Range: $48 - $60 per hour
