- Conduct daily inspections of construction projects to monitor quality and adherence to building codes.
- Perform inspections across multiple disciplines, including structural steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and document nonconformance.
- Communicate findings to the engineer or project manager and collaborate on solutions for potential issues.
- Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to specified procedures to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before reporting to the Project Manager.
- Interact with clients and site personnel to provide input on resolving findings.
- Assist the Project Manager in developing the scope for testing and inspection services.
- Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with project, department, and office managers.
- Maintain equipment and assist sr inspectors on large, complex projects.
- Follow safety rules and report any safety concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- 3+ years of experience as a WABO certified construction inspector in Structural Steel and Bolting (SSB) and Structural Welding (SW).
- AWS CWI Certified.
- Experience with commercial construction projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
The work environment involves active construction sites where adherence to safety standards is crucial. You will use various inspection tools and equipment to conduct your duties, and collaboration with the project team is essential. The role may require travel to different project sites, and a professional appearance is expected at all times.
