Under the guidance from the Continuous Improvement Manager, coordinate and lead Continuous Improvement (CI) thinking and behaviors across an entire Watts site. This position enables lean transformation at all levels, and trains, coaches and directly applies lean principles and tools to all business functions within Watts value streams. Responsible for direct supervision of Continuous Improvement Technicians and Kaizen Specialists.

You Will

  • Supervise a team of Continuous Improvement Technicians and Kaizen Specialists to ensure they are aiding in the success of CI activities and facilitate the ongoing development of a healthy cross-functional group of qualified CI practitioners and lean leaders.
  • Coordinate and lead the implementation of lean principles across the business, through close collaboration with area leaders.
  • Under the direction of the CI Manager, develop annual kaizen roadmap prioritizing. Responsible for publishing and ensuring kaizens are accomplished on time with data driven improvements.
  • Lead in development, revision and training of One Watts Performance System (OWPS).
  • Effectively work with all levels of the organization to report metrics and lead CI team to meet targets for improvement.
  • Support the CI Manager in strategy deployment within manufacturing in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate cross functional team workshops. Provide targeted education, leadership and guidance throughout the workshop process. Work with area leadership to ensure successful follow up to workshops.
  • Lead teams where appropriate to demonstrate and realize optimal lean solutions.

You Have:

  • A bachelors degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience solving business problems utilizing lean principles.
  • Experience as a front-line Supervisor is strongly desired.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
