Design Engineer II

What You'll Do:

• Provides engineering and project management support for distribution underbuild work within transmission projects.

• Coordinates with the transmission project management team to prioritize and manage project workflows effectively.

• Reviews distribution design packages for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and standards.

• Coordinates field verifications to validate design assumptions and identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle.

• Collaborates with Designers and Drafters to ensure timely and complete delivery of design documentation.

• Applies technical knowledge to support the preparation of moderately complex designs and calculations.

• Supports the discipline's design development on simple projects and contributes to more complex efforts through technical analysis and coordination.

• Communicates project challenges related to scope, cost, schedule, and quality in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensures adherence to applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.

• Maintains clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders and project team members.

• Interacts with clients on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited university

• 2+ years of experience on the FPL system (distribution or transmission)

• Proficient with FPL-specific software:

• STORMS WMS (Work Management System)

• PUR (Project Update Reporting)

• Design Manager

• Electric Office

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

• Experience with Power BI is a plus
