This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: General Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performinggeneral labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, materialsrecycling facility (MRF) or landfill. Responsibilities may include suchthings as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicleoperation, general office maintenance and other related duties.Key Responsibilities:Clean up work areasFuel vehicles and equipmentClean tracks on track type and related equipmentPerform yard work, including mowing and paper pick upOperate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks,pickup trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.Work in accordance with Company and federal, state/provincial and localsafety policies & proceduresPerform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting andjanitorial workDirect traffic at the site as necessaryPerform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested bymanagement.Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, but notrequired.Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functionsaccording to Company standardsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations andcommunicate with others.Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limitedsupervisionAbility to operate any equipment necessary to perform jobAbility to apply common sense reasoning to solve general problemsPhysical/Mental Demands:Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoorenvironment 90% of the time.Must be able to use hands and fingers, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, climband balance.Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depthperception, and ability to adjust focus.Ability to manually lift/move up to 65 pounds regularlyAbility to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance fromanother employeeWorking Conditions:Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy, extreme hotand cold weatherconditions (depending upon season), moving mechanical parts, vibrations,toxic and causticchemicals, fumes and airborne particlesWork in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time.Works route away from branch location on a continuous basis throughoutthe day.Occasionally work in high precarious placesWork in motor vehicle traffic conditions constantly.Work environment is normally loudWe thank you for your interest.
