We are currently seeking a **Structural Bridge Design Engineer** to join
our South Portland, Maine office**.** This is an exciting opportunity to
be part of building and expanding our bridge practice in Maine. In this

**Annual Compensation:** \$81,000 120,000 based upon experience,
certifications, and regional market standards.

**STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- Collaborate with team with structural analysis and/or design of
bridges (including steel beam, prestressed concrete beam, concrete
slab, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade
separations, stream crossings, bridge hydraulic analysis, bridge
rehabilitations, bridge feasibility studies, bridge structure type
studies, bridge load ratings, railroad bridges, and design-build
pursuits).
- Lead bridge projects and coordinate tasks as a bridge task
coordinator.
- Support teams in other offices with structural bridge design and
plan production tasks.
- Lead bridge projects and coordinate tasks as a bridge task
coordinator, managing project schedules, costs, and budgets.
- Mentor junior engineers and perform quality control for
structural/bridge plan sets.
- Develop technical memorandums, specifications, feasibility studies,
evaluations, and reports, and support proposal development.
- Other duties as assigned.
**STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:**
**Education:**
- Bachelor s or Masters degree in Civil Engineering required.
Structural emphasis preferred.

- Maine PE license is a plus. Successful candidates will have their PE
or the ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire.
**Qualifications:**
- 5-10 years of bridge/culvert design experience, required.
- Maine DOT bridge design experience and thorough understanding of
Maine DOT design guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.
- Relationships with ME DOT, municipalities and other DOTs, preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and
Manual for Bridge Evaluation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD preferred.
