Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering materials testing and geotechnical consulting services for environmental industrial and infrastructure construction projects Headquartered in Austin TX Atlas currently has over 3500 employees with offices throughout the US including Alaska & Hawaii Its no accident that Atlas creates a better experience for infrastructure and environmental projects Its how we are built with the best people in the industry with the reach and expertise to help at any and every step of the project and with a heart led approach that puts quality and safety at the center of everything we do Were just built to be better We are a great company We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Indianapolis IN team Come join us Job responsibilities include but are not limited to Effectively manage projects resources and staff while providing expert technical guidance in geotechnical engineering across diverse projects in both public and private sectors and ensure strict adherence to applicable guidelinesPerform geotechnical design investigation and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects including residentialcommercial buildings bridges highways railways airports pipelines and leveesbasinsDirect and supervise subsurface explorations laboratory testing and geotechnical data interpretation to ensure a high quality timely and within budget delivery of the projectsPerform geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations earthworks recommendations slope stability and seepage analyses lateral earth pressure calculations and other pertinent analyses in support of a wide range of projects in public and private sectorsSupervise and lead geotechnical support during construction of geotechnical elements including shallow and deep foundations grading utility trenching and other earthwork operationsCoordinate with clients stakeholders and governmental personnel ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensivelyMentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional developmentPlay an active role in professional associationsMinimum requirements A bachelors degree in civil engineering suffices; a masters degree in geotechnical engineering would be helpful4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis geotechnical field investigation and construction supervisionThe successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana or ability to obtainLocal experience and familiarity with the local engineering practiceTechnical requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team based workingGeotechnical background including fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering soil and rock mechanics pavement engineering and groundwater hydrologyExperience in construction oversight for foundation and pavement construction and earthwork observationExperience with geotechnical engineering software;
