What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

OHM Advisors is seeking a Project Engineer to support and lead the design and delivery of site and municipal infrastructure projects. Based in our growing Huntsville office, this role offers the opportunity to shape local development efforts and make a meaningful impact on communities in northern Alabama. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the firm while managing engineering tasks from concept through construction for public- and private-sector clients.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the design and production of site and municipal infrastructure projects, including grading, utilities, stormwater management, and roadway improvements.
• Serve as the engineer-of-record on projects and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Oversee preparation of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Manage and coordinate tasks among junior staff, CAD technicians, and cross-discipline team members.
• Interact directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and local stakeholders to move projects forward.
• Conduct quality control reviews and mentor EITs and less-experienced team members.
• Support proposal development and assist with project budgeting and scheduling.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Huntsville office through technical leadership and client engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Alabama or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically in site development and municipal infrastructure.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with local and state permitting processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Desire to contribute to a growing office and make a local impact through infrastructure design.
