What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
As a Civil Engineer-in-Training at OHM Advisors, you will support a wide variety of public infrastructure projects focused on municipal utility systems, site development, and roadway design-with opportunities to contribute to structural and transportation components as part of multidisciplinary teams. This is a unique opportunity to join our growing Huntsville office, where you'll be part of a collaborative team helping to expand our presence in the region while delivering impactful, community-focused solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of public infrastructure including water main, sanitary sewer, stormwater systems, roadways, and site grading.
- Support site development projects for municipal and institutional clients, including layout, utilities, and drainage.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates under the direction of licensed engineers.
- Contribute to transportation and structural design tasks as part of broader project efforts.
- Perform field investigations and assist with construction administration tasks.
- Utilize design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other applicable engineering tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams and public agencies to move projects from concept through construction.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 0-4 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to municipal, site, or infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or related design software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Interest in contributing across a variety of civil project types and helping to grow a local engineering presence in a new market.
