Job Description

Position Overview:

This position serves LEONI's North American Series Development Department with design expertise to create and maintain harness designs. The candidate should possess the capabilities to independently process customer designs and to represent LEONI in front of our customers.

Job Profile Description

  • Analyze customer designs/requirements and convert in LEONI 2D prints and BOM
  • Ensure that all design data is robust and sufficient for processing, and raise relevant technical queries
  • Communicate directly with the customer's technical department to clarify designs are resolve issues
  • Uses and performs relevant methods and tools e.g. DFMEA, DFM, Design Reviews
  • Collaborate to analyze cost and weight of designs and provide optimization proposals
  • Liaison with manufacturing operations to ensure manufacturing feasibility
  • Support build phases in harness manufacturing and vehicle assembly plants
  • Process engineering changes and deviations from initiation to implementation
  • Support all customer meetings and requests

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive preferred)
  • 3 years' experience in Automotive Electrical/Electronics Design preferred
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD tools and E/E schematics preferred
  • Proficient English speaking and writing skills
  • System Engineering Skills are a plus
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Good team work and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Willingness to travel
