Concrete Superintendent

Jamestown Excavating is seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead and manage our concrete team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee concrete construction activities, ensure quality craftsmanship, and contribute to the success of projects across various surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, curbs, and floors.

This is a full-time position typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on project needs. We're looking for someone with a strong background in concrete work who can lead by example, manage crews, and maintain high standards of safety, performance, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations of Jamestown Concrete and conduct annual employee performance appraisals

• Design and build forms and layout from survey and construction plans

• Set forms, monitor curing, and apply finishing techniques (hand tools and power tools)

• Pour, level, smooth, and polish concrete surfaces

• Patch and repair existing surfaces and construct expansion joints

• Ensure the proper use of reinforcement (wire mesh, rebar)

• Apply sealants, stains, and decorative finishes as required

• Use appropriate tools (vibrators, joiners, floats, trowels, screeds, surfacing machines)

• Operate small equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, and forklifts

• Follow all safety protocols and regulations; use PPE

• Communicate clearly with team members and equipment operators

• Train and supervise team members in techniques and equipment use

• Travel to various jobsites and supplier locations as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a concrete laborer, mason, or similar role

• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a criminal background check

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans

• Experience with concrete mixes, reinforcement techniques, and surface finishing

• Willing to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed
