A leading building materials manufacturer is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Leader to drive a culture of proactive safety and compliance at one of its flagship manufacturing facilities. This role will take ownership of safety program implementation, behavior-based initiatives, and compliance with federal, state, and internal environmental and occupational health standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the sites behavior-based safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

  • Manage and deliver all OSHA-required and company-mandated safety training

  • Facilitate near-miss and incident investigations, corrective action plans, and follow-ups

  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and internal reporting standards

  • Partner with Environmental Manager on regulatory programs (e.g., HAZCOM, spill response, chemical handling)

  • Track employee safety records, JSAs, ergonomic assessments, and injury trends

  • Support injury case management and return-to-work programs

  • Oversee safety committees, emergency response teams, and fire prevention programs

  • Provide input on site construction projects to ensure safety considerations are met

  • Promote wellness, job hardening, and fitness-for-duty initiatives

What You Bring
  • B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and workers compensation programs

  • Experience leading training, incident investigations, and safety committee engagement

Excellent communication and influence skills across all levels of a facility
