The Position

Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO), located in Hillsboro Oregon, is a drug product & finished goods manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of Roches commercial portfolio & pipeline products. The Operations organization at HTO is divided into 2 value streams, which combine to produce millions of units of life-saving medicine every year to patients around the world.

The Opportunity:

In this exciting role, you will operate, maintain, and repair all utility systems and associated subsystem equipment within the HTO site. You will work in a teamwork environment by providing support to engineering and operations in the design, installation, testing, operation and maintenance of Fill Finish manufacturing and support equipment.

  • You will ensure all assigned equipment and associated subsystems are maintained in the following manner: (1) All Preventative maintenance is performed at the appropriate interval and is completed by the assigned due date (2) All equipment remains in its designed and/or validated state at all times and (3) All equipment operation is in accordance with Federal, State, Local and Genentech regulations, procedures, and policies.

  • You will ensure / maintain all assigned equipment areas in a constant state of inspection readiness; specifically, but not limited to, the following: (1) Cleanliness (2) Personnel and Equipment Safety and (3) Compliance with cGMP requirements.

  • You will identify training deficiencies, provide recommendations for training and where applicable provide training.

  • You will continuously evaluate all associated Standard Operating Procedures, engineering drawings, and various other controlled documentation for accuracy and applicability. Submit appropriate change requests to the supervisor to correct any deficiencies discovered.

  • You will continuously evaluate maintenance practices to eliminate nonproductive activities and implement productivity enhancements.

  • You will perform Confined Space Entry on an as needed basis.

  • You will complete preventive maintenance and assigned paperwork in a safe and timely manner following all cGMP documentation guidelines.

  • You will work in close proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gases, steam, and moving machinery/equipment.

  • You will coordinate contractors who perform repairs, modifications, and installations of various equipment.

Who you are:

  • You hold a high School diploma or equivalent. Technical degree, certificate, or coursework a plus.

  • You have 6 years experience in an industrial / manufacturing maintenance/operation environment.

  • You have 5 years experience in a cGMP environment.

  • You have thorough working knowledge of Predictive Maintenance philosophy and techniques.

  • You have thorough knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, steam, electrical systems, controls and maintenance methods. Specializing in at least two.

  • You have extensive troubleshooting skills on various equipment and systems.

  • You have an ability to work independently on complex and controversial issues.

  • You have an ability to use Building automation system (BAS)

  • You have experience working with electrical systems 480VAC.

  • You have experience working in a clean room environment with large mechanical equipment, piping and pumps connecting to tanks serviced by high-pressure steam, water and air.

  • You have thorough working knowledge of pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors and proper lubrication

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Hillsboro, OR is $64,000 - $120,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. Relocation benefits are provided.
