Travel Heavy Equipment Operator Jobsite Location: Farnham, VA Job Description We are seeking a skilled Bulldozer, Excavator, and Skid Steer Operator to perform trenching and backfill work in Virginia for new electrical construction projects. This role demands precision and expertise in operating heavy equipment, contributing to the successful completion of civil engineering tasks. Responsibilities Operate bulldozers, excavators, and skid steers to perform trenching and backfill work. Ensure fine grading ability for dozer and excavator operations. Collaborate with laborers on site to ensure efficient workflow. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE gear. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, essential for production-based solar construction. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating excavators or dozers, with preference for experience in both. Fine grade ability for precise operations. Possession of third-party certifications for bulldozer and excavator. Safety awareness and knowledge, including OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Solar experience is a plus. Ability to work significant overtime and weekends as required. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a new construction environment on multiple civil closeout sites. Expect exposure to the elements, including very hot and humid conditions during summer. The work schedule is 50 hours per week, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with breaks for lunch and short intervals in the morning and afternoon. Safety is paramount, requiring appropriate PPE gear, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, reflective vests, and gloves. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Farnham, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
