Welder Job Description The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. Responsibilities Plan details of work order procedures and gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment utilizing wire feed welding techniques. Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using blueprints, measuring devices, cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment. Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded. Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area. Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Conduct quality control evaluations on completed welds. Essential Skills 1 - 4 years of experience with wire feed welding. Steel & Aluminum welding experience. 1-3 years of fabrication with welding & layout experience. Mechanical experience with hydraulics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of a formal apprenticeship or welding program. Successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program required. 1-3 years of mechanical experience with hydraulics (preferred). Why Work Here? The environment requires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing, climbing on ladders, balancing, lifting, walking, carrying materials, and standing for long periods of time. Be comfortable intermittently working at heights of 8 feet and in cramped workspaces, getting into awkward positions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Snohomish, Washington. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
