If you have a background in e-Commerce sales and business development and enjoy playing a critical role on a fast-paced and high-performing sales team, keep reading! Our e-Commerce sales team is searching for a Business Development Manager for our Amazon and Chewy accounts. The successful candidate will drive the company's growth in online sales through aggressive go-to-market strategies, account management and effective marketing and promotional program development. You will play a key role in helping the organization achieve our goals and objectives on a high-growth, high-visibility sales team! This is a hybrid position based out of our Franklin, WI location, which is a suburb of Milwaukee and easily commutable for residents in Northern Illinois. Our hybrid schedule entails on-site time Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with remote working on Monday/Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Amazon and Chewy systems, building and maintaining strong relationships with vendor managers and support teams
  • Develop strategic and innovative thinking about improving business in a very complex and competitive marketplace

Sales & Performance Optimization

  • Create key customer business plans with data-driven metrics to achieve our sales goals; develop and track annual trade investments to deliver against business plans with goal of optimizing overall spending to deliver expected profitability
  • Identify growth opportunities and recommend initiatives to capitalize on them (e.g., promotional campaigns, launch strategies, product innovation)
  • Generate regular reports on performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership

Catalog & Content Management

  • Regularly evaluate product catalog and partner with brand leads to ensure listings are accurate, optimized for search (SEO), and have compelling content to drive conversion
  • Manage new product setups, variations, and catalog updates within vendor portals and Salsify platforms

Inventory & Operations

  • Collaborate with internal partners (supply chain, logistics) to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and ensure optimal stock availability
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, including chargebacks, shortages, and shipping discrepancies
  • Stay informed about Amazon and Chewy policies, algorithm changes, and market trends to adapt strategies accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally & transversely across the organization
  • Strategic understanding of how to win online with Amazon and Chewy
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customers and partners
  • Solid analytical skills to effectively analyze results and develop strategies and solve problems
  • Experience with market research tools such as Stackline, Numerator, a plus
  • Proficient in account level e-Commerce tools (Vendor Central, Chewy VDS, etc.)
  • Love of pets a plus
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 3+ years of experience in e-Commerce consumer products sales
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Comfortable, corporate office environment; frequent use of phone and PC; required overnight business travel approximately 10-15% of the time

POSITION INFORMATION:

This position pays $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience and location. This role is also eligible for a sales incentive bonus based on plan parameters and achievement of sales goals.
