Contract - 06 Months (Possibilities of Contract Extension)
The Structural Engineer will independently plan and execute engineering tasks within a global business unit. The role demands problem-solving expertise, coordination with various engineering teams, and utilizing advanced engineering tools. The candidate will be responsible for technical leadership, ensuring engineering quality, and liaising with clients and vendors on project requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work across a global business unit, typically within one discipline.
Handle conventional engineering tasks, resolving complex design issues, material conflicts, and coordination challenges.
Use Client Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and 2-D/3-D CAD/CAE tools for design and documentation.
Prepare equipment/work specifications, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
Coordinate engineering efforts with various specialties, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
Resolve technical issues with other departments and review constructability requirements.
Take a lead role in technical tasks and direct engineers and subgroups on specific projects when delegated.
Assist in the on-the-job training of assigned personnel and contribute to performance evaluations.
Prepare communication (letters to vendors/clients) and review bid analyses.
Contribute to conceptual studies, design, proposals, and reports.
Perform original design work and assist in cost estimates, proposals, and staffing requirements.
Ensure the creation of a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, systems design, and design calculations.
Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools, including 2-D and 3-D applications, and Client Standard Computer Applications.
Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulatory criteria.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to lead and manage teams, coordinate with other disciplines, and resolve technical issues.
Experience with greenfield/brownfield projects in multiple industries like natural gas, petrochemicals, carbon capture, power plants, and desalination.
Education/Experience:
A degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college/university with 9+ years of relevant experience.
A professional engineering license from a recognized licensing board.
Practical experience in design engineering or related engineering fields, demonstrating competence as a trained engineer.
