Electrical Design/Drafter

An Insight Global client in the oil & gas industry is looking for an Electrical Design/Drafters in Houston, TX. They are looking to fill this role because there has been an increase in projects, and they need more design support for the increased number of engineers. Under general direction, this person will provide technical expertise to design project teams. They will complete entire design projects with minimal supervision. They should be one of the experts in creating proper part CAD models. Additionally, have expertise in the preparation of complex design layouts and/or schematics based on rough sketches or instructions from engineering personnel with wide latitude for independent design judgment. They will be responsible for drafting quality of design team documentation, checking drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required, and creating complex CAD library components. They will comply with and promote the reliability and safety and comply with HSE and Service Quality requirements. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. This role is 100% onsite in Houston, TX 40 HRS MON-FRI (7:00-3:30) (8:00-5:00).

Targeted Pay Rate: $35-40/hour

Skills and Requirements

8 years of related drafting/design experience

A strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution, lighting systems, and other relevant components is essential

Experience with PLC, electrical enclosures, and electrical boxes design work

Strong experience in creating proper part CAD models

Strong experience in preparation of complex design layouts and/or schematics based on rough sketches or other instructions

Associates degree in Electronics Technology

Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction process Strong SolidWorks experience null
