Job Summary
Mechanics are key members of FRC's operations team, working with the Shop Manager to ensure all company equipment and vehicles are maintained and repaired as needed. This position requires knowledge of heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines. Mechanics typically perform repairs and maintenance on-site at the FRC shop but must also be able to travel within the United States, potentially with overnight stays, to troubleshoot and perform equipment repairs in the field. The successful Mechanic will also ensure an understanding and adherence to all safety needs/regulations, will be a clear communicator, and willing to work as part of a team.
Job Duties
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Attend shop meetings, safety meetings, and other company meetings as scheduled
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot problems on equipment and vehicles at the FRC shop
- Travel to FRC jobsites and other field locations to troubleshoot/repair, when necessary
Operate machinery such as welders and torches (fabricating skills helpful)
